Breast Cancer Day was held in perfect golfing weather with 54 players competing which included 16 visitors. The event played was an Orange (Short) Course 3 Person Aggregate Stableford – Pink Ball Challenge.
There was an abundance of prizes with the main one going to Shirley Weir, Wendy Stewart and Kathy Neely who returned with their pink ball and a score of 117pts. To raise additional funds we had male members Ian Croker and Andrew Martin who, for a donation, hit the drives for players on the 3rd and 8th holes raising $433 between them.
Certainly a greatest highlight of the day was Ian landing a Hole In One for a visiting player. The men showed great support for the day by wearing pink along with the women.
Andrew went one step further to the great amusement of players donning a pink dress and wig. Major sponsors for the day were Helen Peterson and First National Real Estate and in excess of a $1000 was able to be presented to Goulburn’s Breast Cancer Wig Bank.
