March was a busy month for our women golfers. In between a busy pennant schedule we fitted in an Irish 4 person team event for St Patricks Day with all players dressing in green to support the day. The winners were Marg Antony, Deanne Worboys, Grace Prigg and Julie Roberts. Runners up were Jane Kilmister, Virginia Spinks, Margot Owen and Rona Hope. We were delighted to have our very own Irish player, Annie Gilmore, present the prizes for the day.
On March 31st it was Bowral’s turn to host our annual inter club match with twelve players per side competing in matchplay for the coveted shield. The course conditions were extremely wet and boggy providing a test for our team. While the result didn’t go our way it was made enjoyable by perfect weather and wonderful hospitality. We look forward to hosting next year and regaining the shield.
The CSGA Plate and Bronze Shield pennant seasons have now concluded with the Brindabella team still to play one postponed match. The players looked fantastic in their new pennant shirts and enjoyed several wins, although not quite enough to secure a place in the finals. A sincere thank you to team captains, Dawn Bodel, Sue Ellen Langbein and Clair Nolan who organised the teams and car pools each week. We also extend our appreciation to all players for their committment as well as the drivers who ensured everyone arrived safely at each course.
